This post was not planned but it is happening just the same. I visited Ashish Gupta’s blog to read his recent post ‘harassed by wife’ . A hyperlink took me the following photograph on Kraz Arkin’s blog which I am posting here without his permission:

I could not resist the temptation to dial the two phone nos. First I dialled the MTNL no. from my MTNL phone (the 9868 one) and it was unanswered.
Then I dialled the other no. and the ringtone was guess what?
Mujhe meri beewi se bachao…. ![]()
A voice that belonged to a middle aged man answered the call. I asked the details of his ‘mission’ or if he has a blog/website. He is an advocate in the Supreme Court – Mr. R.P. Chugh (“Comrade Chugh”).
He gave many website addresses:
- Here is a snapshot from one of the above:

You can read about it (the PTI November 2005 story in the Indian Express here (as referred to by both Aashish and Kraz). An excerpt:
Chugh claims, without naming names, the top notch of bureaucracy and judiciary of Delhi have, at some point or the other approached him with marital woes, complaining of harassment by their wives!!!!
P.S.: I am quite opinionated on this: doomed is the man who does not want to be scolded by his woman! When I am married I would want my wife to scold me frequently! The menfolk will not agree with me. May be the grass is not so green on the other side of the hill; may be the sound of drum is pleasant but only from a distance! I don’t care a damn, just the same!
Just kidding!

I am sure you are joking since scolding and using false charges to book under law are very different things. I wish you find what you want
No need to be apologetic about commenting or referencing my post since hyperlinks are lifeblood of internet. Feel free.
@ Ashish
Yes, I am! I don’t mean it here in the legal sense. My aim here was humour. I understand harassment by wives is a serious matter as you have pointed out in your post.
Vikas.
