दिल्ली की गर्मी: A Short Hindi Poem on Delhi Summer

Delhi summer poem comics heat This is a short Hindi poem on Delhi’s painful Summer season that was written before the monsoons arrived. Delhi is famous for both the summer and winter!

दिल्ली की जो गर्मी है
कुछ कर ही नहीं पाएंगे आप
एसी कूलर चला के रखिये
वर्ना उड़ जाएंगे बन के भाप!

पानी की भी किल्लत है
बिजली तो अक्सर जाती है
सूरज आग उगलता है
दिल्ली बहुत सताती है!

पसीना टप-टप चूता है
बदन से आग निकलता है
मई – जून का महिना तो
दिल्ली में काफी खलता है!

जब कपडे गीले हो जाते हैं
मन गुस्से में झल्लाता है
ब्लू लाइन बस में बैठे-बैठे
बारिश की आस लगाता है!

गलती से जो गर्मी में
कभी बारिश हो जाती है
कसम से हर दिल्लीवासी को
बहुत राहत पहूँचाती है!

पिछले जनम में दिल्ली ने
जाने क्या किए थे पाप
कि भगवान ने गुस्से में दिया
ऐसी भयानक गर्मी का श्राप! :(

      Ae @jnabee……: अपने दिल को पत्थर का बना कर रखना ,
      हर चोट के निशान को सजा कर रखना ।
      उड़ना हवा में खुल कर लेकिन ,
      अपने कदमों को ज़मी से मिला कर रखना ।
      छाव में माना सुकून मिलता है बहुत ,
      फिर भी धूप में खुद को जला कर रखना ।
      उम्रभर साथ तो रिश्ते नहीं रहते हैं ,
      यादों में हर किसी को जिन्दा रखना ।
      वक्त के साथ चलते-चलते , खो ना जाना ,
      खुद को दुनिया से छिपा कर रखना ।
      रातभर जाग कर रोना चाहो जो कभी ,
      अपने चेहरे को दोस्तों से छिपा कर रखना ।
      तुफानो को कब तक रोक सकोगे तुम ,
      कश्ती और मांझी का याद पता रखना ।
      हर कहीं जिन्दगी एक सी ही होती हैं ,
      अपने ज़ख्मों को अपनो को बता कर रखना ।
      मन्दिरो में ही मिलते हो भगवान जरुरी नहीं ,
      हर किसी से रिश्ता बना कर रखना ।
      मरना जीना बस में कहाँ है अपने ,
      हर पल में जिन्दगी का लुफ्त उठाये रखना ।
      दर्द कभी आखरी नहीं होता ,
      अपनी आँखों में अश्को को बचा कर रखना ।
      सूरज तो रोज ही आता है मगर ,
      अपने दिलो में ‘ दीप ‘ को जला कर रखना

    very good from children’s point of view, but as they say – bandar kya jane adrak ka swad, so some people may find it booooooooooooooring.

    thankyou!when i read this poem i have got an idea how delhi people suffers the hot summerbeacause i live in oman i go india every year but i have not gone to delhi .

    If you come to Delhi, make sure it is winter! Winter here is very chilling, the exact opposite of the summer season!

    This poem is too gd, i teach in a skool n poem elocution is cumg im guing 2 prepare my children 2 dis poem in sa stage…thnx alot who eva has submit.

    very useful but instead of delhi, i have used chandigarh because i live in chandigarh and I wanted to prepare a poem on garmi for my assembly. My teacher was depending on me.I am a 10 year old girl and I liked your poem very much.

    nice peom, but log kehte hain na…bandar ko kya pata, adrak ka swad, so some people will not try to know the beauty of peoms. anyway, it is a very good poem. y dont you publish it?

    It has Reema. I have mentioned it in the beginning that I wrote it before the monsoons arrived. And now this post is the most sought after post on this blog! It got 35 hits when people tried finding Hindi poem on summer/ Delhi! I am going to write one on saving water now.

    Thank you Manish. It was for kids, a simple poem like most of the Hindi poems here! I never claimed to be an intellectual while writing this poem.

    But people try to judge me here and I of course ignore it!
