Dear Vikas and Amit,

I am a Project SRF in CCMB. I recently cleared CSIR-SRF interview for life science. On the website CSIR has displayed the result and written about sending a letter in march 2012 to all the selected candidate. They have also told that fellowship will be effective from 1st April 2012. As I will have to join the proposed lab, the institute may not be able to pay unless the money comes to them. So I wanted to know, when this letter will be send to me and fellowship will be released and send to the institute.
Please reply if any one of you have any information in this regard so I can plan my joining ASAP.

Hi Amit,
I came to know that Indian Council of Agricultural Research is going to increase the salary of RA/ SRFs from current 23,000/ 16,000 +HRA. Is that so….? Please let me know. I am frequently hearing the same from many of the SRFs but, no body is sure when it is going to implement. I searched on the web for information, but, i could not find anything. Your help in this regard is highly solicited. Thank you

You simply write a letter through supervisor and CSIR will automatically convert that into RA.

As I had submitted my PhD thesis I answered interview for CSIR SRF extended ion 17 Jan 2012 and I have qualified the same. My fellowship will commence from 1st April 2012. Also my viva will take place on 2nd april 2012. Now what should i be doing to convert my SRF extended fellowship to RA. Do i have to wait for the next years interview for RA or I have to simply inform CSIR and clam RA. Could anyone suggest me the procedure.

Dear Sir/Mam,
I am pursuing research in social science from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University since may 2008. I am getting UGC Research Fellowship amount (5000/month).I have completed my three years and nine months.Initially they told me that this fellowship will be for four years but now, they are telling that this fellowship is three years for social science and four years for science subject. by-mistake they have given me extra six months fellowship. right now they have sent me recovery letter for extra fellowship.Kindly let me know that time duration can be different for science and social science scholar, while all central universities are providing four years fellowship for social science scholar also.Please give me more detail about this fellowship.

hi amit..i dont know who are you and wat u do but i am so happy and proud of wat u are doing to scientific community…thank you…here is a chance for me to do something for my institute scholars. so please help me….i am a masters scholar with JRF in veterinary science (IVRI) joined in year 2010-aug…we came to know about increased JRFs from 12000 to 16000/month and the higher officials promised us that we will get our arrears very soon…but its 2012 i am going to finish my degree still arrears have not come…whenever we ask for it higher officials are not giving us direct answers and they are very reluctant about it….here so many people like me are suffering because of this…many of us are from middle class and i dont know why do the higher officials dont think about this….here a masters scholar during his/her actual research, works 10-12 hours/day….but see what we get finally..? its so frustrating…..i dont know wats going on with the administration…my institute comes under ministry of agriculture (ICAR)….could you help us in getting our money back….pls reply as early as possible…thanks

Amit you are right here. As per my knowledge if you have JRF then even you don’t need to do PhD for getting the job of lecturer in University and colleges. Because JRF itself provide the eligibility for LS. If you are JRF then there is no matter for you that university are conducting the course work or not.
But if university conduct the course work then for every one this is compulsory, its not matter he is JRF or not. I think Niladri want to say same thing.
One more thing PhD with UGC regulation 2009 is required only in the institutions which is directed by UGC. For other institute, like NITs, IITs and IISERs, they required only PhD, its not matter for them that the degree is according UGC regulation 2009 or not….

I think u r thinking that regulation for University then u r not correct. I have already cross verify via RTI these rules. So, I am saying for JRF student it is nothing to bother about the course work. It is just a business of University nothing else. All university has different way to registered their student. But regarding the eligibility of lectureship 2009 regulation says what ever i told earlier.
