I think he was a great ambassador for India on the world arena and one reason why we are still together as a nation and in a democracy. But his economic policies threw us in the stone ages. If it wasn't for him, we would have still been struggling to ban polygamy for Hindus. The right wing extremists had fought tooth and nail. Ambedkar and Nehru wanted the equality for all (castes, genders)then... (I remember Charakan wrote a detailed post on this) - I admire Jawahar Lal Nehru immensely.
