I had booked an air ticket on 2 July 20111 (Air India, 12 June 2011, Ranchi) in some 6000 Rupees. Since 27 June, Make my trip dot com has a deal code ‘FREEDOM15’ through which one lucky winner will get his base fare refund in a lucky draw held every fifteen minutes.
I am a good reader and always hunt for discount codes and coupons before shopping online (it helps most of the time). I entered the deal code and I got lucky.
The base fare of Air India ticket in my case was 5000 Rupees and I got the refund! So while booking tickets or buying online, do read all details and available options (most people don’t). You can visit makemytrip dot com and see terms and conditions of the offer if it’s still on. For most private airlines, base fare would be a small amount though.

The refundable amount is the entire base fare amount of a single adult ticket, subject to a maximum of Rs. 1000.
So, do check your bank account. You would have saved only Rs.1000/-.
