It is usually unethical to ask directly for links to people you do not know.

The best way is to build a relation and then they automatically put you on their blogroll/links page.

I sought your explanation on this yesterday and you have regretted it. However I still believe that it was very unethical on your part to write that line. Some crimes can not be forgiven.
